Creating a NORC account

In order to have access to certain NORC services the user must create an account. This account is unique to all NORC websites, giving access to any NORC service, regardless of the website providing it.

Creating a NORC account is free.

• Username - combination of characters and / or numbers chosen by user, used to access the account. The username is public and unique for all NORC websites. If the chosen username is already used , this will be indicated by the red color of the input box. The username cannot be changed or deleted.
• Password - combination of at least 6 characters and / or numbers chosen by user, then used to access the account. The password can be changed at any time only by the owner of that account, following the password recovery procedure by accessing the link available on the login page.
• E-mail Address - the e-mail address where the user will receive confirmation or verification messages of certain account activities. These messages are designed to protect the account data and avoid unauthorized access to the account.
  The E-mail address cannot be changed or deleted. It is also not possible to create multiple accounts using the same e-mail address.
• First and last name - your first and last name. Based on the first name and the initial of the user`s last name, it will be created theNORC name. This name will be public and will accompany any content added by the user in the NORC websites.
• Verification code - Entering this code is mandatory and is aimed to avoid the automatically accounts creation.
• The box "I want to receive information about NORC" - by marking this checkbox the user agrees to receive messages containing information about the NORC websites and services by the email address entered in the "create account" interface. Using this box is optional, and marking it or not will not affect in any way the process of creating the account. If the user chooses to mark this box now he can always quit receiving such messages from his account interface.
• The box "I have read and agree to the terms of use" - marking this checkbox is mandatory if the user wants to continue the account creation process. By checking this checkbox the user confirms that he read and accepts the Terms Of Use of the NORC websites and services. If the user does not agree to these terms, he should not mark this box, and his account will not be created.
• The "Register" button - by clicking on this button the data entered by users will be sent to NORC servers with the purpose of continuing the account creation process.

If the data entered is correct, a message will inform the user that on the e-mail address used to register he will receive a message in order to validate the e-mail address and activate his account. Furthermore, the user must follow the instructions in that message.

If the data input is not correct, different error messages will be displayed to show the data to be corrected.
